Miss Sliwinski and Mrs. Hartzell’s 1st grade class designed some amazing family coat of arms pillows in the Studio! The students prepared at home by discussing their family culture, faith, and interests. They came into the Studio with sketches, and dove into creating their final drawings on fabric. Each student got to sew their own pillow, operate the sewing machine, add stuffing, and create a designer tag. Their hard work is beautifully showcased all in these unique coat of arms pillows seen below. This design project integrates social studies and language arts, and gives students the experience of sharing what makes their family special through an ancient graphic art form.
Thank you to all of the wonderful parents who helped out in the Studio last week!
